Busy Busy Busy

I know it's been awhile, but when you're a writer, juggling your time with your life can be difficult. Also, with the holiday season fast approaching, I know things will get even more hectic around here.

Although I am still waiting for the release date of my paranormal romance, Unique Transformation, through The Wild Rose Press, I am busy working on revisions and other stories. Four of my books are in the Galaxian series, All for an Alien's Love, which I've been writing for 30 years. Once they are to my satisfaction, I hope to submit them as a whole. I also have two inspirational books I'm working on as well as many shorts.

So, for now, that is all I have, but hope you will stop by occasionally for updates.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Over

Okay okay. So I was wrong. Yesterday reached 80 degrees, two degrees short of breaking the record for that day. The sky was blue, and it was incredibly warm. So, not to waste the moment, I went down to Hamlin Beach State Park and took a nice walk. Lots of older citizens there doing the same thing. It was just gorgeous.

Today, however, is in the 50s, and it has been raining since last night. We are no longer expecting 80 degree weather. The weather man assured us that those days were behind us for awhile. So again, not to waste the moment, I will take advantage of this cool, dreary day. Today is a good day to write. So that's what I'm gonna do. Just as soon as I read all my e-mails, check out all my networking sites, etc etc. Maybe I'll quit procrastinating before it gets really dark.

Columbus Day 2007

Ah, Columbus Day. Nothing like another holiday to guarantee you noise while trying to write. With all the kiddies home today, they are letting the world know how happy they are to be out of school. Unfortunately, the entire world does not share their joy. I find it annoying when the banks are closed and there is no mail delivery. However, since this will be one of our last 80 degree days this year, it is great that the children are able to enjoy this one last burst of summer before things change drastically.

Contrasts

Went fishing yesterday. Not much into fishing, but the day was so gorgeous and warm, I couldn't resist. So, I pretty much lounged while my uncle fished. Unfortunately, due to lack of rain all summer, the stream was lower than usual. We only saw minnows or smaller fish, nothing to bite a hook. So we ended up driving from one fishing location to another to check the depths, all to no avail.

Instead, we took the short drive to Lake Ontario and encountered a weird weather change. While it was sunny and near 80 degrees south of the lake, we ran smack-dab into a fog front that was so thick you couldn't see the horizon above the lake. It was cool actually, but the cool temperature was a stark contrast to the warmth just a mile or so away. It was refreshing. When we drove back into the warm sunlight, the difference was felt right away.
Never have I experienced such a contrast in weather within a mile or so of where I was. And never have I seen such a thick cloud of fog in early afternoon like that. Loved it.

Dreams vs. Reality

It's amazing that how hard work, when doing something you love to do, doesn't really seem like work at all. I could spend hours writing and whiz through eight hours without even realizing it. In fact, I've been doing that a lot lately. Truly, there is nothing I enjoy more than creative writing, losing myself to an imaginary world that totally usurps the reality around me. How wonderful is the life of a writer.

Reprieve

After a week of cold, October-like weather, we have been given a wonderful reprieve from all of the low temperatures. It is so nice when we find our summer days extended. It is supposed to go back into the 80s, and next week there is an expectation of record-breaking, warm temperatures. I can hardly wait. Getting a chance to further enjoy the sunshine and warmth before our true autumn arrives is something I do not want to ignore. Fifty years of upstate New York winters has demonstrated that gloomy, gray skies are the norm and that they will last till at least next March. I'm not looking forward to winter, but I'm not sure I would like sunshine all the time either. There is nothing like the beauty of the changing seasons. Each season does have its perks. Getting a chance to wear lovely sweaters is one I can think of off hand, during the colder months.

Meanwhile, I will continue to write because, as seasonal changes take place throughout the land, ideas for new stories become prevalent in my brain. Nature has such great inspiration for a writer and helps aid in the emotions necessary for a good tale.

Autumn Musings

Hello, Folks!

After a dreary, rainy Sunday, the sun has finally reappeared. It is sad to know that summer is on its way out, but as I consider the beauty of autumn, the cool, crisp days and falling leaves, I think how beautiful are the changing seasons. Although this opinion may change come January, when the sun hides for months, right now I am anticipating some nice changes as we move toward year's end.

With my paranormal romance coming out soon through The Wild Rose Press, I now have some wonderful things to look forward to. For an author, it is also exciting to see what your latest book cover will look like. Since The WRP has some great cover artists, I can only anticipate how mine will appear for my debut story. I know it will be worth waiting for.
